Comment: We are renting a home and the owner demands cash only. Before when we were giving him money orders he asked us not to put "FOR RENT AT___" on the memo.... could this be because he is in foreclosure??? |

Seriously someone has to step in and support tenants this is ridiculous how we get taken advantage of. Posted By Stephanie from California on May 16, 2009, 7:04 pm You CAN give him cash and it does not mean he is in forclosure however I also wouldnt assume he isnt either. IF I were you I would be happy to give him cash AS LONG AS he has no problem giving you recipts signed by him. Then you have the proof you need if the issue ever arrives. Posted By Donna from Nevada on May 5, 2009, 7:59 pm I would asume that the Landlord is trying to hide somethnig, cash obviously is not traceable. Sorry Landlord Money Order to protect yourself, what's to say this Landlord doesn't take you to court for Non Payment of the rent, you'll have no proof if you give him/her cash... DON'T DO IT
