We have been leasing a home for just over a year. We are now month to month with a so called "verbal" agreement to lease for another yr.( I understand flaky at best. We just found out that our LL is late or delinquent on the house payment, do not know how severe, but late nonetheless. We are in no position at this time to move moneys tight, job is not secure (company having money issues as well), kids starting new yr in school etc. It's clear to us that they are having money issues. We pay rent every month on time. My questions are What rights to I have? How much time could I possibly have if this gets worse? When is it the right time to confront the LL with my new found knowledge of the problem?

I'm short selling my home and looking for a home to lease.. after reading all this information and several warnings from my agent...I'M TERRIFIED to rent a home, even through property managements! What are we to do? Who can we trust??
